New York Yankees trade reliever Caleb Ferguson to Houston Astros
Astros GM Dana Brown said the team is excited to add Ferguson to the bullpen
The New York Yankees have traded reliever Caleb Ferguson to the Houston Astros for international bonus pool money and a player to be named later, the team announced Wednesday.
Ferguson, 28, was designated for assignment by the Yankees on Tuesday. He had a 5.46 ERA in 33 innings pitched this season.
The Astros are hoping that Ferguson can provide some depth to their bullpen. He has a career 3.43 ERA in 189 innings pitched.
"We're excited to add Caleb to our bullpen," Astros GM Dana Brown said. "He's a young, talented pitcher with a lot of upside. We think he can be a valuable asset for us."
