Caleb Ferguson Signs One Year Contract With Los Angeles Dodgers

Caleb Ferguson signs one-year contract with Los Angeles Dodgers

Dodgers left-hander entering third year of salary arbitration

Ferguson slated for free agency after upcoming season

The Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed to a one-year contract with left-handed pitcher Caleb Ferguson, avoiding salary arbitration. The deal is worth $2.4 million, according to multiple reports.

Ferguson, 29, is entering his third year of salary arbitration. He is now in his final season of club control and is slated for free agency after the upcoming season.

Ferguson has been a key part of the Dodgers' bullpen in recent years. In 2022, he posted a 2.13 ERA and 1.04 WHIP in 55 appearances. He also struck out 66 batters in 42.1 innings of work.

With just 112⅓ innings under his belt at that point and having not pitched since 2020 Ferguson in 2023 will be an important season for Ferguson. He will need to prove that he can stay healthy and continue to be a productive pitcher in order to earn a long-term contract.
