Apple App Store Policy Update: Xcode Required for App Submissions

Effective April 25, 2023

Important Changes for iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS Developers

Apple has announced a significant change in its App Store policy, effective April 25, 2023. Starting on that date, all new iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS apps submitted to the App Store must be built using Xcode, Apple's official integrated development environment (IDE) for macOS.

This policy change aligns with Apple's focus on improving the quality and security of apps available in the App Store. By requiring developers to use Xcode, Apple can ensure that apps meet its technical guidelines and best practices.

Developers who have not yet switched to Xcode are advised to do so as soon as possible. Apps that are not built with Xcode will not be accepted into the App Store after the April 25, 2023 deadline.
