Steppenwolf: A BRUTAL TALE OF VENGEANCE
Fantasia International Film Festival Review
A startling vision of hell from celebrated Kazakh maverick Adilkhan Yerzhanov
Following the success of Assault (IFFR 2022), prolific filmmaker Adilkhan Yerzhanov returns with Steppenwolf, his fifteenth feature in twelve years.
The film follows Tamara (Alina Tasmagambetova), a young woman who seems to suffer from mental issues. As she walks through the desolate streets of Almaty, Kazakhstan, she is haunted by visions of a hellish world. These visions are so vivid and disturbing that they begin to take over her life.
Steppenwolf is a brutal and unflinching look at the dark side of human nature. Yerzhanov's film is a masterpiece of horror that will stay with you long after the credits have rolled.
