TJ Watt's Knee Injury Puts Postseason Status in Jeopardy

NFL Star Battles Knee Sprain, Undergoes MRI

Steelers Defense Faces Uncertainty as Playoff Nears

Pittsburgh Steelers star edge rusher TJ Watt suffered a knee injury in the team's victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, putting his status for the postseason in jeopardy. Watt, one of the top defensive players in the NFL this season, had recorded an NFL-leading 19 sacks before sustaining the injury in the third quarter after colliding with teammate Montravius Adams.

After the play, Watt was seen pounding the turf in apparent pain or frustration. However, he was able to walk to the sideline tent and did not need to be carted off the field.

On Tuesday, head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed that Watt has suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain and will miss at least one playoff game. The injury is a significant setback for the Steelers, who will rely heavily on Watt's pass-rushing abilities in the postseason.

Watt's injury is just one of several the Steelers are facing ahead of Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams. Linebacker TJ Watt has been ruled out for six weeks with a torn pectoral muscle.
